closed circles
walk with me
windows
ocean floor
moonlight
wasted moments
sweet silhouette
quixiotic dreaming
too many dead animals
dew drop hill

we came to the same conclusions
about how the people are
drifting in closed circles
we may come from different places
but tonight we try
to reach for something to talk about
beneath the cozy lanterns
want to stay for a while
watching people smile
in this place
many different faces
come from different places
all these leaves from different trees
sharing the same place
you gave me some inspiration
gratidude is nudging me
to tell you all I know
walk with me
down by the riverside
feel there is something I cannot define
whirling away deep in my mind
so walk with me
down by the riverside
you lift me high
still I fear
I will fall
walk with me
we'll stare at the sky
reflected by ripples that shimmer and shine
inside you cannot decide
drifting and shifting
you change with the tide
I foolishly tried
all the time
to hold you down
laughing and joking and fooling around
our footsteps softly stepping on ground
making sweet sounds, all around
so walk with me
down by the riverside
daydreams again
awake but far away
drifting in a distant plane
that is out of sight
from all other eyes
light shines down
searching for windows
can't fathom why they pry
can't fathom why they try
to look inside
living in a special place
noone knows what goes on
there is no trace
still trying
to find a way inside
but the mind
such a wonderful place to hide
took a nose dive
in the river of minds
straight for the deep end
search for a new friend
no use holding on
to dreams from the past gone
sleep can't last long
I'm searching for
a new place
familiar face
from the shore
rests on ocean floor
did my best
but you faded away
from the crest of a wave
into the mist
have to resist
looking behind
you're so out of reach
but still in my mind
don't try too hard
just let it flow
tiny steps will get you there
so take it slow
moonlight
finds its way in
even when there's darkness all around
memories wedged in
biterness can grow
but inside hope is strong
the fighter lives below
and moonlight
finds its way in
even when there's darkness all around
the breeze as it breathes
whispers words full of love
and the moon as it shines
lights the skies up above
as you climb out the well
you will find all you lost
tonight hoping you can come
stay a while till the morning sun
well sit and watch the cars drive by
by my side there wont be wasted moments
five am, the drunks have all passed out
but you and I can last throughout the night
well sit and watch the cars drive by
by my side there wont be wasted moments
I know youve got to go away
to the other side of the ocean
these English ways were not your scene
you had to chase those high rise dreams
but dont feel guilty please dont cry
just let me be that last one to say goodbye
well sit and watch the cars drive by
by my side there wont be wasted moments
sweet silhouette
tells you stories
you quickly forget
whispering words
setting you straight
how to relate
comforting signs
calming your mind
you start to unwind
that shadow
on your wall
can help through it all
tricks you used to know
no longer hold, let them go
when your fashion sense
brings you down
you feel like a clown
you're running your fingers
through tangles of hair
when it don't seem fair
coz tricks you used to know
no longer hold, let them go
on your thrown you gaze from above
picking faults in people you love
but when you compare
yourself to your friends
you sink like a stone
in the end
and all you think you know
no longer holds
so let it go
there's a place
on the other side
where true love binds
but I'm still searching for myself
there's a girl
whos dressed in red
with eyes so blue
who led me to her quiet view
not ready to be here
unsteady when she's near
suddenly
she paints the sky
with delicate hands
is she dreaming of
quixotic lands
leading me upstairs
where limbs like serpents tied us down
gripping each other to keep warm
not ready to be here
unsteady when she's near
defences fall down like a towel
no protection from showers
that rain down from the clouds
when youre all alone
you reach out for the first thing to hold
then it leaves you tired and cold
not ready to be here
unsteady when she's near
and all I feel is fear
morning light
illuminates bare skin
but I'm still searching for myself
too many dead animals on the road
they dont know about the green cross code
driving down the country lane
all those creatures are feeling pain
think that a fox just struck my wheel
I thought I heard it squeal
we took their homes to build new towns
the human race must find new ground
now all the creatures have nowhere to go
thats why theyre too many dead animals on the road
outside the dew is forming
where magpies fly
and the flowers are beaming
the sun streams down from the sky
troubled thoughts are brewing
but tranquil land
holds me like an anchor
stops me feeling down
seems that angels smile
on dew drop hill
all my hopes are drifting by
on dew drop hill
inside my mind recalling
the touch of her hand
that I still believe in
why I can't understand
they say I'm self deceiving
my fragile mind
but I say be believing
don't leave your dreams behind
seems that angels smile
cold winds have gone
all my hopes are drifting by
love will carry on
on dew drop hill
